• Here are some further pictures of the overhead cable conveyor moving bunches of bananas as part of the Eden Project previously reported and "it all works brilliantly" in the words of The Eden Project Exhibit Design Manager.

• August is proving a particularly busy month for installations with several heavy duty mezzanine floor belt conveyor projects. We also completed a powered belt conveyor for feeding waste cardboard to a compactor. This included a feed hopper and tall side guides.

• New business includes more heavy duty further mezzanine floor belt conveyors, an overhead chain conveyor for moving special metal boards to and from a high temperature oven and inclined flighted belt conveyors, complete with feed and discharge hoppers. More details in our next News Update.

*QD Powered Conveyors:

• Approximately 18 months ago we received an order for Four QD style powered conveyors to remove waste metal off-cuts from beneath a large press. Unfortunately, our customer could not install these at that time because of some production problems. The conveyors have now been installed as illustrated and are performing very satisfactorily.

• The belt conveyors have varying widths between 580 mm and 1,020 mm and are fitted with 113 mm diam. integral drum drive motors. We only had 160 mm depth to fit the conveyors inside the press. We kept the motors and tensioners outside the press as shown for easy maintenance access. Special side guides were fitted to help direct the metal pieces onto the conveyors inside the press. This project illustrates the flexibility of our QD style drum drive conveyor range.
